| SEI Investments Company traces its
beginnings to 1968, when Al West, now Chairman and CEO, was a graduate
student at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. West
started a business that created computer-based simulations to train bank
loan officers in credit lending practices. He named the company Simulated
Environments Inc.
|
Today, SEI Investments is
a global investment services firm with over $366 million in annual
revenues and over 1000 employees in offices worldwide.
|
| Looking for diversification
opportunities, SEI developed in 1972 the first on-line investment
accounting system for trust departments. As one of the pioneers in the
technology outsourcing industry, SEI's product included software,
processing and customer service support, all packaged into a comprehensive
total solution.
|
Today, with over 25 years
of experience, SEI Investments is the trust technology industry leader,
with 20 of the top 50 U.S. banks as clients.
|
| In 1981, SEI Investments met client
banks' need to automatically sweep uninvested cash balances into money
market mutual funds. SEI launched a series of money market funds in 1982
and established a cash management business.
|
Today, SEI Investments is
the leading provider of cash sweep services to bank trust departments,
managing over $21.7 billion in assets.
|
| Capitalizing on the growing popularity of
mutual funds, SEI created a family of funds to satisfy the investment
diversification needs of it's bank clients. And when banks and other
financial institutions introduced their own proprietary mutual fund
complexes, SEI in 1990 offered fund accounting and shareholder services
for these funds.
|
Today, SEI Investments is
one of the leading providers of proprietary fund services, with over
$139.8 billion in assets under administration.
|
| At the same time, SEI began to offer it's
own asset management programs to registered investment advisors, financial
planners, bank trust departments, and institutional investors. In 1996,
SEI began to offer investment management programs to institutional and
individual high-net-worth investors in selected target markets: Canada,
Latin America, Europe, South Africa, and East Asia.
|
Today, SEI Investments
manages over $27.6 billion in assets for its advisor and institutional
clients.
|
| SEI Investments recently introduced a
product for an emerging new market: Trust Back-Office Outsourcing.
Providing comprehensive accounting and processing services, this product
allows trust institutions to outsource their investment and trust
operations functions.
|
Today, SEI Investments is
the leading provider of trust back-office outsourcing services, with
over 71 clients.
|
| From its startup as a investment
technology company, SEI Investments has evolved into a diversified
investment services firm dedicated to helping its clients - banks,
investment advisors and institutional investors - grow their assets and
their businesses. |
